The Research, Innovation and Dissemination Center for Neuromathematics (NeuroMat), one of the Research, Innovation and Dissemination Centers (RIDCs) funded by FAPESP, has started the development of a "supercomputer" that simulates the functioning of the cerebral cortex, a key area of the central nervous system. In April, 2015, members of the Research, Innovation and Dissemination Center for Neuromathematics (CEPID NeuroMat), met with around 30 school teachers and other professionals of education to conduct a first cycle of activities directed to primary school teachers (Mathematics, Science and Stakeholder Areas). The project had a main objective to strengthen teachers' training in statistics, providing them with methods and content that could be applied in class settings.
